Self Care Starts With You
As we go through our day-to-day lives, it can feel overwhelming. With our giant “to-do” lists, endless tasks, and taking care of the home, self-care can fall to the wayside. I don’t know about you, but after a long day of what feels like a never-ending cycle, all I want to do is just sit and not move until the alarm goes off and I have to resume with the regularly scheduled program. One thing I have realized is that self-care starts and ends with me. If I don’t take care of myself no one will be able to do it for me. Although responsibilities are always looming over, we have to be reminded that self-care is important and shouldn’t be perceived as another chore. Making self-care fun, accessible, and a priority is what Turner Medical Arts is all about. We pride ourselves and make sure our clients leave us feeling more invigorating and full of confidence than when they arrived. If you have been struggling with excess fat, self-care could mean finally getting rid of it for good. If ready to start putting yourself first, we welcome you to explore our body contouring and liposuction options and contact our office today to set up an appointment.
What Is Liposuction?
Caring for yourself can look different for everyone. Whether you rearrange your space, go on long walks, or exercise daily, it is all about your preference and what you like to do. For some, self-care is a cosmetic procedure that removes fat that you can’t seem to get rid of through your current diet or exercise. It is often used on the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, neck, chin, upper and backs of the arms, calves, and back. The fat is removed through a hollow instrument, known as a cannula. This is inserted under the skin. A powerful, high-pressure vacuum is applied to the cannula. This procedure can take a toll on your body overall because it is considered major surgery. Although liposuction reduces the number of fat cells in isolated areas, it isn’t a cure-all especially if you undergo the surgery without plans of maintaining a healthy lifestyle that is conducive to keeping the fat that was removed from recurring.
What is Body Contouring?
Have you ever heard of an aesthetic treatment that can have you leave work on your lunch break and come back as a different person? Do you wish there was a way for you to get the body of your dreams without having to go under anesthesia to do it? Well, at Turner Medical Arts, we offer body contouring treatments to help you achieve the goals you have been putting off. Body contouring, unlike liposuction, is a non-invasive or minimally invasive procedure with little, if any downtime. Body sculpting is the process of destroying fat cells with extreme temperatures, sonic vibrations, or acid injections to help the body flush them out of pesky unwanted areas. The amazing part about this treatment is you don’t have to take off work, pull back on wanting to exercise, or take any unnecessary painkillers to help aid in your recovery. This is a wonderful alternative to major surgery and all that you have to deal with regarding the repercussions.
How Do the Two Compare?
The difference between the two procedures is that body contouring is minimally invasive while liposuction is surgical. Liposuction is best for larger deposits of excess fat in the abdomen, arms, thighs, buttocks, back, face, and neck. The top reason that people desire to exercise is to look and feel better about themselves. If you live a busy life and are looking for a treatment with little downtime, body contouring may be an option for you. With body contouring procedures, such as our VASER lipo system, many of these fat cells in your body are simply removed or destroyed. Once they are gone, they are usually gone for good. By removing fat cells in certain areas of the body, like stubborn bulges of fat that are difficult to get rid of with only exercise or dieting, we can essentially “sculpt” your body. The VASER lipo system is offered right here at Turner Medical Arts. With over 20 years of surgery experience, we can provide you with exceptional results while minimizing any and all downtime you may experience. Although you will look thinner, this is not a cure-all for the need for a healthy lifestyle of staying active and putting good foods into your body. With any treatments, whether you decide to go under the knife or not, it is important that you still put in the work on your end to keep your body healthy and happy.
