Dramatic hair loss & thinning among both men and women can occur due to genetics, stress, and illness. Marked by bald spots and a more visible scalp, thinning hair can be very detrimental to one’s confidence. While many over-the-counter and prescription treatments are out in the market currently, there is little consensus over which of them actually work. While most of these questionable treatments rely on chemicals to promote hair growth, natural hair loss solutions are now becoming more and more prominent. One such solution involves the use of personal growth factors to improve hair condition and quantity.
Why Does Hair Loss Occur?
Hair loss is triggered by a number of different factors. For most, the onset of hair loss is likely due to hormonal imbalances such as an abnormal amount of androgens in men. Other issues that contribute to hair loss include genetics, excess stress, autoimmune diseases, and certain eating habits. While some of these causes can be controlled, factors like genetic predisposition cannot be altered. Taking certain medications or undergoing a treatment procedure can help most people manage their hair loss symptoms. For others, our hair loss treatments may be an excellent solution.
Hair Loss Treatment Procedure
In the treatment of hair loss, the use of personal growth factors has been proven to show promising regenerative properties. This minimally invasive treatment works by using your own growth factors to stimulate hair follicle growth in areas where the hair is thinning. When applied to your scalp, the concentrated material extracted from your blood stimulate hair follicles and promote accelerated hair regeneration well after the treatment is done. This treatment is safe to use for most patients. However, those with active scalp infections or histories of shingles, diabetes, and coagulation disease may not be good candidates. Similarly, those on blood thinning and/or immunosuppressive medications may not apply.
Hair Restoration Results
Typically, about three treatments at six-week intervals are needed for the best results. Additional treatments can be done after six months to a year following your initial visit if needed. Recovery from the treatment may involve some soreness and swelling in the treatment area. However, these symptoms usually only last six hours and should be completely resolved in two days. We recommend avoiding vigorous physical activity and sweating while your scalp heals to prevent irritation. Results of the procedure vary from patient to patient, but most people usually see changes in as early as 1-2 months.* Optimal results can be seen roughly 3-6 months after the procedure.*
