I was born and raised in Colorado and moved out to California to run track (the 400m) and attend college at UC San Diego. After earning my BS in Ecology, Behavior and Evolution in 2001 I then attended graduate school, earning a Masters in Education from UC Santa Barbara in 2002. I was a middle school and high school science teacher and grant based program director for almost 10 years before switching my degree to nursing. While exploring different specialties in nursing I was really drawn to women’s health and decided to pursue my Family Nurse Practitioner degree. It is a passion of mine to educate and empower women so that they can take control of their reproductive health and make the choices that are best for their overall health and well-being. I met my husband, president and managing partner of Channel Island Surfboards, when I was in college and we have been married for almost 14 years. We have 4 beautiful children, 2 sons and twin daughters. We have lived in the same Montecito home for 15 years and would never dream of leaving such a beautiful town. I am sure you have seen me walking through town with my children and King Charles, Scout, as we are quite an active family. Montecito has a special place in my heart and is truly a place I call home.
I am thrilled to be part of the Turner Medical Arts team and look forward to meeting you!
