Why Do I Need First Trimester Care?
Though you may not be showing during your first trimester, this time represents a crucial moment for the development of the fetus. At this time, the fetus is developing its major internal organs. At the same time, you will begin experiencing changes. Your mammary glands will enlarge, you may experience constipation, and you may also feel tired due to the physical and emotional toll pregnancy can take, among other symptoms. Understanding and gaining control over these changes can make the rest of your pregnancy more comfortable and easier to manage. With Santa Barbara’s OBGYN shortage we are here to help!
What Does First Trimester Care Include?
First trimester care here at Turner Medical Care includes:
- Pregnancy confirmation
- Ultrasound
- Lab work
- Monitoring
- Coordinate and refer for all non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT)
Along with these services, we can also offer extended pre-natal care outside the first trimester. However, we do not coordinate deliveries. Deliveries occur through the hospitalist program coming to OBGYN Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital later this fall, 2022.
Are These Services Covered By Insurance?
Turner Medical Arts does not work with insurance companies for the office visit, but any labs collected/requested will be billed through insurance. Office visits are paid at the time of the visit. We do provide a super bill with the correct codes to submit to insurance.
Our OBGYN Pricing Structure
- First visit (pregnancy confirmation via ultrasounds, initial labs, education about pregnancy timeline for care): $500
- Additional visits during the first trimester (urinalysis, blood pressure, weight, fundal height, fetal heart tones): $150/visit
- Extended care & coordination: $250/visit
